The project will span 257,000 square miles, offering experiences and activities to educate and inform visitors.
It is led by Saudi Arabia’s Rua Al Madinah Holding Company and is set to become a popular, unique tourist destination. It will be an unparalleled way to get to know Saudi Arabia and its roots. Keep reading to learn more about this impressive project!
Cultural Understanding on a Deeper Level
To get the best understanding of Islamic cultural roots, Madinah’s Islamic Civilization Village will be divided into eight districts, reflecting different elements of Islamic culture and history. These districts include the Arabian Peninsula, Mashriq, Islamic South Asia, Sean, the Silk Road, Andalus, Maghrib, and Africa.
Each zone will engage visitors differently, since each area has a unique cultural influence. You can expect historical performances, interactive activities, and immersive displays to bring every area to life.
This new development also nods to Islamic civilization’s strong contributions to human history, through scientific advancement, arts, and more. It also shows Saudi Arabia and Rua Al Madinah Holdings’ commitment to fostering global understanding and cultural tolerance.
With a prime location next to the Prophet’s Mosque, this cultural village could not be closer to the heart of the holy city of Madinah.
It is guaranteed to enchant visitors with the best Islamic culture has to offer!
A New Type of Tourism
In conjunction with Madinah’s Islamic Civilization Village, the local area is preparing to welcome more tourists in keeping with traditional Islamic hospitality. The development will include 47,000 hotel rooms by 2030, opened sequentially in partnership with three keystone hotel operators, Marriott, Hyatt, and Accor.
Although there is a lot of construction planned, 63% of the total site will actually be dedicated to green space, fostering natural beauty in the urban development.
Since the Islamic Civilization Village will be so close to the Prophet’s Mosque, it will also create new accommodations and activities for pilgrims to the mosque. This will further enrich the travel of those pilgrims, in addition to cultural tourists.
Local Economic Development
The influx of travelers will also bring development to the local economy. Madinah’s Islamic Civilization Village will create jobs in the local community, encouraging economic transactions and private-sector investments in the area.
You can already see this development through investment in the nearest airport. Flynas has announced its next operational base will be at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. Flynas will offer six new flight routes, two domestic and four international, to create new ways to visit Madinah.
This is just one indicator of the colossal economic development that Madinah’s Islamic Civilization Village will bring to the local community.
